Scott Courtois
Scott Courtois has been a trainer/literacy strategist for Missouri Reading Initiative for ten years. Before that he taught first, third and fifth grades. Scott was also a Reading Recovery teacher, Kindergarten Title I teacher, third grade Title I reading teacher and a 4th-6th grade Title I reading teacher and literacy coach. He was trained by the Missouri Reading Initiative for the entirety of his teaching career and is also trained in LETRS. Scott loves to learn new strategies to teach reading and writing and has a deep passion for literature and professional development. Scott enjoys collecting antiques and vintage Christmas items. He has been married for 28 years and has one son, Kaleb, who lives in Dallas, Texas, and a daughter, Miley, who is a sophomore in high school.
